19-Year-Old Woman Collapses in East Village Building, Dies

By Jess Wisloski | February 16, 2013 5:48pm

EAST VILLAGE — Police found an unconscious 19-year-old woman Saturday just before 5 a.m. in the lobby of a building on East 12th Street police and reports said.

Jocelyn Pascucci, of East Meadow in Long Island, was let into a condo building at 125 East 12th St. near Third Avenue, before falling unconscious, according to police and reports.

She was rushed to Beth Israel Hospital, but declared dead on arrival, cops said.

The doorman at the Zachary Condominiums spoke to the girl's family when they hadn't heard from her by 3 a.m., the NY Daily News reported.

Earlier in the night she attended a concert at Webster Hall, the News wrote, after speaking with her father Richard Pascucci.

Pascucci told the paper he had imagined picking up his daughter, a student at SUNY Stony Brook, in the city, driving her home, and giving her a lecture in the morning — but that instead they arrived to find the FDNY trying to resuscitate her in the entry of the building.

According to the News, police sources said her death may have been result of a rare medical condition, called adrenal hydroplasia, and her possible consumption of alcohol Friday night.

The cause of death was officially unknown and a medical examiner's report was expected Sunday, officials said.
