EAST NEW YORK — Plainclothes cops shot a 31-year-old man Tuesday who they say refused to put down the gun he was holding.

The officers, part of the 75th Precinct’s Anti-Crime Team, responded to a 5:25 p.m. tip that a gun-toting man was inside a Glenmore Avenue house, police said.

When a sergeant and three officers approached the front of the building, police said they saw Alexis McIntyre peering out a window. A fourth officer spotted McIntyre exit the back door carrying a gun, according to the NYPD.

When McIntyre didn’t comply with orders to drop the weapon, an officer shot him once in the torso, police said.

McIntyre was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was in stable condition, police said.

He is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
