Video Shows Woman's Wallet Being Stolen at Century 21, Police Say

QUEENS — Police are looking for a woman accused of stealing a wallet from another woman’s pocketbook as the victim tried on shoes at Century 21 in Queens, the NYPD said.

The alleged thief sat close to the victim, a 39-year-old woman, inside the Century 21 at 61-35 Junction Boulevard in Rego Park, about 11:30 a.m. Jan. 20, police said.

Then, according to cops, the thief reached into the victim's pocketbook and took out her wallet.

The incident was captured on the store's security camera, according to a video released by the NYPD.

Police described the suspect as a 40-to-50-year-old woman, 5-foot-4, heavyset, with long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black coat and black pants.
