NEW YORK — The city's drivers are getting a break.

Alternate side parking rules are suspended through Wednesday because of holidays and ongoing snow removal following Winter Storm Nemo, the Department of Transportation said Sunday.

The city is suspending alternate side parking on Monday because of snow cleanup, and the rules were already set to be suspended citywide on Tuesday to mark former President Abraham Lincoln's birthday and on Wednesday because of Ash Wednesday, the DOT said.

Alternate side parking is now set to resume on Thursday.

Parking meter charges remain in effect.
