CROWN HEIGHTS — Police have arrested two suspects in the shooting death of a Crown Heights teen whose dream of becoming a teacher was cut down by a hail of bullets last August.

Cops arrested Anthony Morris, 23, on Tuesday in connection with the killing of Darius Robinson, a 17-year-old who was shot to death while standing in a crowd near 720 St. Mark's Ave. on Aug. 21, 2012, police said.

Morris was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Two police officers spotted Morris, who was wanted in the crime, at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 on Amsterdam Avenue and West 90th Street on the Upper West Side. Morris was taken to the 77th Precinct, where he was charged, police said.

On Oct. 6, police arrested another suspect, Lamount Samuell, 21, who was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the case, police said. Samuell was a high school basketball star who played for Fordham University before transferring to the University of Bridgeport, according to the New York Post.

Robinson, who was shot in the torso, wasn't the intended target of the August shooting — he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, police said shortly afterward. His violent death sparked a call for tighter gun control laws from Robinson's family and community leaders.

Robinson worked two jobs and was "a very mature 17-year-old," his father, Fred Robinson, told DNAinfo.com New York in August.

Fred Robinson has twice been touched by gun violence. His brother, Seaton, was shot to death in 1988, the family said.
