Bklyn Bridge Park's Photo Contest Asks 'Who's the Cutest Dog at the Run?'

By Janet Upadhye | January 15, 2013 1:48pm

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Brooklyn Bridge Park's two well-trodden dog runs can be found packed with four-legged furry friends every day of the week, rain or shine. And this month the waterside park's favorite canine visitors get to compete for the chance to take away the ultimate "Cutest Dog at the Dog Run" title.

"Whether it’s 100 degrees outside or 30, the dog runs at Main Street and Pier 6 are always busy," said event spokeswoman Maureen Lynch. "People love their dogs and they love to show them off.  We thought a photo contest would be a fun way for folks to share some photos of their cute pups."

The park's photo contest asks dog owners to take pictures of their pets while visiting the dog runs at the park and submit them before Jan. 22 to info@brooklynbridgepark.org to be considered for the contest.

Locals can then vote on their favorite doggy on the park's Facebook page.

Winning dog owners will recieve a $50 gift certificate to Wag Club and of course, bragging rights. The winners will be announced on Feb. 5.

"The dog runs are really active parts of the park and we want to acknowledge that," Lynch said. "This contest will be fun for everyone."
