Craigslist Scammer Attacked and Robbed Man Trying to Buy Laptop, Police Say

HUNTS POINT — A Craigslist scammer pepper-sprayed and robbed a man who was trying to buy a computer from him in The Bronx the day after Christmas, police said.

The 27-year-old victim went to 1275 Lafayette Ave. about 10 a.m. Dec. 26, after arranging via Craigslist to buy a laptop from the suspect, police said.

When the victim handed the suspect $350, the suspect unleashed a stream of pepper spray at the victim's face and fled, police said.
