BAYCHESTER — Three firefighters were injured while battling a blaze in a Tiemann Avenue home Wednesday morning, FDNY officials said.

The fire sparked about 10 a.m. inside of 3021 Tiemann Ave., near Hammersly Avenue, shooting flames up the walls of the two-story house and completely engulfing the roof, officials said.

Nearly 100 firefighters raced to the scene to battle the two-alarm blaze, fire officials said.

Three of firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, officials said.

Another person refused medical attention at the scene, a fire spokesman said.

Firefighters knocked down the fire about two hours after it started, he added.

Marshals were investigating the cause of the fire.
