Police Release Sketch of Suspect in East River Park Sex Attack

LOWER EAST SIDE — Police have released a sketch of the suspect accused of attacking a woman in broad daylight as she jogged along the East River this week.

The 42-year-old woman was running in East River Park at Houston Street about 11:30 a.m. Thursday when the man suddenly threw her to the ground and pulled her pants off, police said. She was able to fight him off and he ran away before authorities arrived.

The victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in stable condition, with minor bruises, authorities said.

Police described the suspect as a 17-to-25-year-old man, last seen wearing a gray hoodie and green sweatpants.
