INWOOD — Members of the NYPD's 34th precinct took some time to spread Christmas cheer to uptown kids this week. Officers played the role of Santa Claus twice, handing out gifts to children in local schools.

Officers handed out gifts to students at P.S. 278 The Paula Hedbavny School on Dec. 20. The next day, gifts were handed out to children at the Salomé Ureña de Henríquez Campus in Washington Heights.

With the help of Inwood community services and the Children's Aid Society, more than 30 students received gifts from the NYPD, which included board games and instruments.
