Man Knocked Down 64-Year-Old Woman and Stole Her Purse, Police Say

THE BRONX — Police are looking for a man accused of pushing a 64-year-old woman to the ground and stealing her purse in a Bronx building last month, officials said. 

The suspect followed the victim into an elevator on East 203rd Street between Valentine and Briggs avenues about 6:40 p.m. Nov. 25 and attacked her when she got off the elevator, police said.

The suspect grabbed the woman's purse, pushed her down and fled, leaving her with bruises and scrapes, police said.

Police described the suspect as a man in his mid-to-late-20s, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, 200 to 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and black sneakers, police said.
