CROWN HEIGHTS — A special education teacher was arrested for drunk driving early Monday morning after police spotted him apparently passed out in his car while it idled in the "middle of the street," according to court papers, police and the Department of Education.
Mitchell Einhorn, 28, a teacher at P.S. K369 in Brooklyn since September 2011, was discovered at Classon and St. Marks avenues at 1:23 a.m. after police responded to calls of someone passed out in the driver's seat of a Toyota Camry, authorities said.
Officers found Einhorn in the car with his "head laid back in the driver's seat appearing as though defendant was unconscious behind the steering wheel of the vehicle," court papers said.
Einhorn said he was on his "way home," papers said. He consented to an alcohol test, according to documents, which showed he had a .118 percent blood alcohol level, higher than the state's legal limit of .08 percent.
The Department of Education was not aware of any prior arrests or disciplinary incidents involving Einhorn, a spokeswoman said.
