LAURELTON — A pedestrian was struck and killed when a sedan ran into him Friday evening on the Belt Parkway, police said.

The victim, who was in his fifties but had not been identitifed pending family notification, was hit at 6:07 p.m. by a 60-year-old woman driving a black Toyota Camry, as he crossed the parkway south to north at Francis Lewis Boulevard (or 230th Place).

He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, with trauma to the body, but declared dead on arrival. The driver stayed on the scene, and no criminality was suspected, police said.
