Kristen Stewart Goes 'On the Road' for Screening of Classic Kerouac Tale

WEST VILLAGE — It's Bella meets the Beat Generation.

"Twilight" star Kristen Stewart attended a special screening Wednesday night of "On the Road," the film adaptation of legedary author Jack Kerouac's magnum opus, joining co-stars Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund, at the IFC Center.

The movie stars Hedlund as adventurous protaganist Dean Moriarty and Stewart as his girlfriend Marylou, while Dunst plays Moriarity's wife with whom he has a tumultous, on-again, off-again relationship.

The film also features Sam Riley as Sal Paradise, the character based on Kerouac himself, as well as Amy Adams, Elisabeth Moss, Viggo Mortensen, Steve Buscemi and Terrence Howard.

"On the Road" opens in theaters Dec. 21.
