QUEENS — A 32-year-old Queens man was arrested Friday for spray-painting the word “LEWY” on the outside of the Brooklyn Bridge, allegedly causing $8,000 of damage.

The suspect, Enno Tianen of Ridgewood, has had several arrests for writing the same tag in a similar style throughout the city.

Tianen is charged with second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespass, making graffiti and possession of a graffiti instrument.

Sergeant Kevin Cooper and Detective Nino Navarra of the Transit Bureau’s Special Projects unit cracked the case with the aid of a police database of the city’s graffiti and graffiti writers.

“If you compare it and the tag is the same [as others recorded in the system] you have probable cause to arrest,” said a police spokesman.
