Cops Hunt Armed Man Who Attempted to Rape Woman on Lenox Avenue, Police Say

CENTRAL HARLEM — Police are asking for the public's help in trying to find a man suspected of trying to rape a 22-year-old woman at gunpoint on Lenox Avenue earlier this week.

The unidentified victim was walking near West 118th Street on November 25 when the armed suspect approached her about 7 p.m., according to the NYPD.

The man drew his gun and forced the woman to the ground, police said. The attack was interrupted by a passerby, cops said.

The suspect fled the scene.

The victim did not sustain serious injuries, police said.

Cops described the suspect as being in his 30s, standing about 5-feet-10-inches, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie under a black bubble jacket, police said.
