INWOOD — A lucky 16-year-old boy miraculously survived a plunge from the roof of an Inwood building Saturday evening, officials said.

The teenager, who neighbors said lived with his grandmother in the building, fell from the roof of 541 W. 204th St., and landed on the roof of a one-story building next door just after 7:00 p.m., fire officials said. It

It was a tumble of about 50 feet, according to witnesses.

"All of a sudden here was this really  loud boom, and I thought it was like an air conditioner landing or something, but then I heard a girl screaming," said Vriny Nunez, 28, owner of Sherlyn's Boutique, on Nagel Avenue, the roof upon which the boy landed.

"He's a good kid," said Nunez, who said the boy's first name was Nathaniel.

Another neighbor, who did not want their name used, agreed that he was outgoing, and always helped neighbors with carrying groceries inside.

He was rushed to Harlem Hospital, an FDNY spokesman said, and had suffered leg, neck and back injuries from the fall and was in serious condition.

Police did not know how the incident occurred but said an investigation was ongoing.
