QUEENS — A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run in Howard Beach Friday morning, authorities said.

The victim was struck at Cross Bay Boulevard and 156th Avenue just after 9 a.m., fire officials reported. A fire source called the incident a "possible hit-and-run." The NYPD said it could not confirm the account.

The victim's identity has not been released, and his or her condition was not immediately available. The pedestrian was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, the FDNY said.

The incident is under investigation.
