CAMBRIA HEIGHTS — A 24-year-old woman who drove straight into a Queens intersection without pausing at a stop sign was killed Sunday, police said.
The victim, Paulina Rodriguez, of St. Albans, was driving a white 2011 Hyundai northbound on 227th Street and pulled across 115th Avenue at 2:45 a.m., without stopping at a sign at the intersection, police said.
That's when she smashed into a black 2012 Honda Civic that was already headed eastbound across 115th Avenue, bringing both cars to a halt in the center of the intersection.
Moments later, an eastbound 2007 black Mercedes Benz hit the Hyundai, directly in the area of the driver's side door.
Rescuers rushed to the scene and transported Rodriguez and her passenger, a 19-year-old woman, to area hospitals, where Rodriguez was pronounced dead. The passenger was in stable condition, police said.
The other passengers refused medical treatment at the scene, police said. No arrests were made, and an investigation was ongoing, police said.
