ELMHURST — Police found a 2-month-old girl unresponsive at a Queens home Saturday morning, and now investigators are searching for the cause of the baby's death.

Police responded to a distressed call at 8:44 a.m. coming from an Elmhurst home at 55th Avenue, near 94th Street. When the arrived, they found the little girl, Jennifer Zheng, unconscious and unresponsive. Zheng was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

The Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of death, but won't be conducting an autopsy until Sunday, said spokeswoman Ellen Borakove.

Outside the home on Saturday, a vacate order from the Department of Buildings was plastered on the front door, declaring "conditions in this building are imminently perilous to life."

A notation at the bottom stated the second and third floors were to be evacuated, including a "day care center" and "third floor entrance" as areas of concern.

A spokesperson from the DOB was not immediately available for comment on the building.

No identity had yet been released on the child, pending family notification, and police said they could not identify the relationship of the caller to the child.
