FOREST HILLS — Talk about divine intervention.

A would-be burglar at a Forest Hills convent Tuesday night was foiled when one of the nuns spotted him, police said.

The man broke a basement window and crept into the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs convent, 109-04 72nd Rd., just after 11 p.m., police said.

A nun confronted him and sent him running away empty-handed, said 112th Precinct Capt. Thomas Conforti.

"She said she scared the wits out of him and he went running down Austin Street and that was the last she saw of him," Conforti told Community Board 6.

The convent declined to comment.

Police described the suspect as a 22-to-24-year-old man, 5-foot-4, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark brown jacket.
