EAST HARLEM — Toxic fumes sent seven Manhattan bus riders to the hospital Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.

Around 1:35 p.m. a bus traveling on East 125th Street at Lexington Avenue had to stop and vacate after seven passengers were struck by the unknown chemical.

An MTA spokesman did not immediately have information on the incident, and could not confirm if the substance was mace. The NYPD was investigating, a spokesman said.

Fire officials said all the victims were rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, with one patient in serious condition.
