Questlove of The Roots to Teach NYU Music Course

MANHATTAN — First James Franco teaching film, now Questlove teaching music.

The drummer of the soul act The Roots, which is the house band on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," will teach a spring semester course at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, he confirmed Tuesday on Twitter.

"That's Professor ?uesto," the musician, born Ahmir Thompson, wrote.

Twitter users said they wished they could take the course, which is set to be titled "Classic Albums."

"This generation [is] lucky .. That sounds like a dope class," @ImmortalJuan wrote.

"Where do I sign up?" @PhoebePowell wrote.

@Ttwala wrote "I'd go back to school for this."

According to Billboard, Questlove will co-teach with producer Harry Weinger and the course will cover albums including Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall," the Beastie Boys' "Paul's Boutique," and "Stand! There's a Riot Goin' On" by Sly and the Family Stone.
