WOODSIDE — A school bus carrying eight children with special needs collided with a car in Woodside Monday morning, a fire department official said.

The students were evaluated at the scene of the collision at 8:27 a.m. near Queens Blvd. and 59th Place, the official added.

Emergency workers determined that the students didn’t need to be transported to a hospital and released them, said the FDNY spokesperson.

This is at least the fifth accident in the 12 months involving a school bus carrying passengers with special needs, including two in May that occurred within minutes of each other.
