BROOKLYN — Police have made an arrest in the death of Fatima Gordon, a 28-year-old mother gunned down in a Flatbush shooting that injured a teenager and two others.
Christopher Johnson, 21, turned himself into the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, an NYPD spokesman said Friday.
Johnson is accused of opening fire on Clarkson Avenue, between Bedford and Flatbush avenues, striking Gordon in the back as she walked home with her mother, 4-year-old son, 7-year-old brother and friends after grocery shopping.
Gordon was rushed to Kings County Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A bullet also grazed the back of 13-year-old Aaron Munoz, a family friend walking with them. Two men were injured by the gunfire.
"She was really the backbone of her family," Denise Johnson, Gordon's aunt, said. "She always helped with all the kids."
Johnson was charged with murder, attempted murder and assault for the Aug. 30 shooting, the DA’s office said.
