QUEENS — Police are searching for a necklace snatcher who struck the Richmond Hill area of Queens last month.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, was walking near 124th Street and Liberty Avenue about 3:47 p.m. Aug. 23 when the suspect approached him and yanked a chain necklace from his neck, police said.

The victim was not injured, police said.

A surveillance video captured the suspect hopping over a fence and walking away after the robbery. The suspect was last seen wearing a light-colored tank top and white shorts, police said.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then entering TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
