MIDTOWN — A man was struck and injured by a cab near Port Authority early Tuesday, officials said.

The victim was hit by the yellow cab at West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue just before 4:30 a.m., officials said.

"He was on the ground in the middle of the street," said a food cart vendor who witnessed the accident.

The vendor, who declined to give his name, said the man was crossing from Port Authority when the cab, which was headed toward Times Square, crashed into him.

"He wasn't moving," the vendor said.

The man was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, though his condition was not immediately clear. Fire officials said he was in serious condition, while the NYPD said he was stable with minor injuries.

There is no criminality suspected at this time.

The taxicab driver stayed on scene, NYPD said, and was not charged.
