Models to Dole Out Free Hugs in Manhattan on Friday

MANHATTAN — Have a feeling you may need a hug on Friday? How about a hug from a model?

A New York City-based online shopping company will be touring Manhattan on Friday with a flock of five models, offering free hugs for anyone who stops by.

For those with a tight timeline, the company, Shoptiques.com, is also accepting hug reservations online.

The event, which will last from 11 a.m. to about 4:30 p.m., is intended to spread a little love, along with brand awareness for the company, which sells fashions from boutiques across the country online, according to a press release.

The models certainly won't be the first to offer free hugs around the Big Apple; but they may be among the most attractive.

The caravan of models will embark on their day of random embraces in Soho at the corner of Spring Street and Broadway.

Around 12:30 p.m., they will move to Washington Square Park. At 1:30 p.m., they will make a pit stop in Union Square before heading to Times Square at 3 p.m.

The models, who will be outfitted with easily identifiable pink T-shirts, will finish out their day around 4:30 p.m. at Columbus Circle.

Their progress can also be monitored throughout the day online.
