NEW YORK — A Brooklyn man was killed in a car crash Thursday morning while driving with his son to the University of Buffalo, according to a report.

Rufus Famotibe, 52, was taking his 19-year-old son, Samuel Famotibe, to Buffalo to start classes when his son veered into oncoming traffic along Route 104 in Wayne County about 6:30 a.m., the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported.

The Famotibes' car smashed head-on into a pickup truck, and Rufus Famotibe was pronounced dead at the scene, the paper said.

Samuel Famotibe, who was driving, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the two men in the pickup were hurt as well, the Democrat and Chronicle reported.

Police were still investigating the crash but said neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be to blame, the paper reported.
