QUEENS — A fire broke out at JFK Airport Tuesday afternoon, the FDNY said.

The blaze started just before 2:30 p.m. on the roof of a power plant at the airport, drawing 65 firefighters to Building 49, an FDNY spokesman said.

The firefighters brought the blaze under control at 3:49 p.m. and there were no injuries, the FDNY said.

It was not immediately clear how the fire started.

The Port Authority, which runs the airport, said the fire did not cause any evacuations or flight delays.

The FDNY initially said the fire was at Terminal 7, but the terminal was not affected, the Port Authority said.
