Three-Alarm Fire Scorches Queens Home

QUEENS — A three-alarm fire broke out in a Queens home that was under construction Tuesday night, the FDNY said.

The fire started just before 8 p.m. at 39-12 Douglaston Parkway, and it quickly spread throughout the two-story home, an FDNY spokesman said.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the blaze and were treated at the scene, the FDNY said.

The fire was under control at 8:55 p.m., the FDNY said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

The FDNY reported that the house may be structurally unstable following the fire, according to the Department of Buildings website.
