Cops Searching for Missing Retired NYPD Officer

BROOKLYN — Cops are searching for a retired NYPD officer who went missing from his Crown Heights home Sunday evening, police said.

Dwight Cox, 73, was last seen leaving his Washington Avenue apartment about 5:30 p.m., the NYPD said.

He is 5-feet-10-inches tall, 180 pounds and has gray hair. He was wearing a blue polo shirt, black pants and a black hat, police said.

Cops are asking anyone with information about Cox's whereabouts to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Members of the public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting tips to CRIMES (274637), then entering TIP577.
