GREENPOINT — The Brooklyn-based TV sensation "Girls" and other shows must halt their shooting on Nassau Avenue until the street's reconstruction project ends, city officials have announced.

The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment closed the avenue, whose shop owners claim they've been severely hurt since the construction began in March, until mid-October, according to state Assemblyman Joseph Lentol.

"Since the reconstruction of Nassau Avenue began, the City’s Department of Design and Construction has temporarily removed street parking from multiple blocks for days at a time, which has severely limited the availability of parking on and surrounding Nassau Avenue," Lentol said on his Facebook page. "In addition to the reconstruction, the ongoing filming throughout the area has further compounded the problem."

Lentol siad that he had received "numerous complaints" about the parking issue and that he hoped the temporary ban on filming would help alleviate the problem.
