OZONE PARK — A fight broke out between two groups of two men Friday who were waiting on line for the new Nike Air Jordan sneakers at a Modell's in Ozone Park, leaving one critically injured, according to reports.
Two of the men, brothers ages 16 and 25, and were charged with assault after allegedly attacking two others with a metal chair, the Queens Courier reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the men were lined up outside the store, at 94-11 Rockaway Blvd., where people were camped out overnight waiting for the $175 Air Jordan 7 Olympic Retro sneakers to go on sale Saturday morning.
Police told the paper that fights started to break out over people's place in line, and the two brothers attacked the other two men with the chair, hitting one of them in the side of the head and the neck.
The man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, the Courier said.
The store and Modell's declined comment.
