QUEENS — Police are searching for a gunman suspected of committing five armed robberies around the borough during a two-week spree in July — including one in which he was photographed in surveillance footage wearing a Kangol fisherman's hat, the NYPD reported.

The suspect, who wore a bandana around his neck, struck first on July 3 when he robbed someone on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and 110th Avenue at 2:50 p.m.

Then he struck at a Howard Johnson Inn on Rockaway Boulevard and 137th Avenue in South Jamaica on July 9, a Subway on Rockaway Boulevard and Meyer Avenue in Meadowmere on July 10, Cambria Car Wash on Linden Boulevard and Springfield Boulevard in Cambria Heights on July 15, and a C-Town on Jamaica Avenue and 195th Street in Hollis on July 17.

In each incident, the suspect whipped out a handgun and snatched cash from his victims. He was described as about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds.
