Four Struck by Lightning During Violent Storm

NEW YORK CITY—Four people were struck by lightning during the massive series of storms that hit the city on Wednesday, authorities said.

A 20-year-old woman was hit by a bolt at 150th Street and 69th Road, near Queens College in Kew Garden Hills, fire department officials say.

The woman was taken to New York Hospital Queens after sustaining minor injuries from the strike, the officials said.

At the Bronx Zoo, three were struck by lightning at about 12:58 p.m., resulting in minor injuries, according to officals.

"Following a possible lightning strike on July 18, three guests at the Bronx Zoo have been sent to the hospital," according to a statement from zoo officials.

They were taken to Jacobi Hospital, authorities said.
