Tree Falls on Car in Queens During Storm

NEW YORK — A tree fell on top of a car near Francis Lewis Boulevard and Laurelton Parkway in Laurelton on Wednesday evening as a storm battered the city with rail and hail.

The accident left a woman trapped in the car around 6:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. Fire crews extricated her from the vehicle and sent her to Jamaica Hospital.

Her condition was not immediately clear.
