NEW YORK — Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 21-year-old woman at gunpoint in Jamaica back in April.

Emmanuel Elmore, 25, who lives on 147th Avenue in Springfield Gardens, was apprehended after cops tried to pull him over in a 2005 Hyundai Accent near 114th Drive and Newburgh Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign.

Elmore allegedly ignored the officers and continued driving before ditching the car and leading police on a chase through several backyards in St. Albans.

When police arrested Elmore, they found a loaded .25 caliber gun. They also discovered that the car Elmore was driving had been stolen.

Elmore has since been charged with rape, criminal possession of a loaded firearm, reckless endangerment, fleeing from an officer in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a stolen vehicle and grand larceny.

When Elmore was arrested, police said he had a loaded .25 caliber gun in his possession.
