LINCOLN SQUARE — Forget the red carpet.

For Monday night's Manhattan premiere of the “The Dark Knight Rises” — the latest installament of the Batman franchise — it seemed only fitting that black replaced traditional red at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater on the Upper West Side.

The color served as the perfect contrast for star Anne Hathaway’s bright white gown by Prabal Gurung — a stark departure from the leather catsuit she dons in the much-anticipated film opening Friday.

Hathaway joined "Dark Knight" co-stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Tom HardyJoseph Gordon-Levitt and Hailee Steinfeld at the star-studded premiere.

Cotillard also worked the contrasting look in a white Christian Dior Couture frock, with a full skirt made of tulle.

Director Christopher Nolan’s third and final installment of his Batman trilogy was shown in an IMAX theater to a packed house, which included other high-profile guests such as director Ron Howard, Donald Trump, Russell Simmons and Gloria Steinem
