Three Injured in Baychester Fire

THE BRONX — Three people were injured in a fire that started in a Baychester basement, authorities said.

Two firefighters and one civilian were taken to Jacoby Hospital with minor injuries, according to the FDNY.

The blaze began in the basement of 3028 Tiemann St. near Hammersley Avenue, after authorities received a call about 11:47 a.m., FDNY officials said.

Sixty firefighters responded to the scene and brought the blaze under control about 12:22 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire.
