NEW YORK — A two-car accident on the New England Thruway near the Pelham Parkway exit in the Bronx left five people injured on Wednesday night, according to the FDNY.

The accident occurred just before 9 p.m. near exit 8C off the thoroughfare, an FDNY spokesman said.

Five people were hurt in the crash, and one person was listed in critical condition, he added. They were all sent to Jacobi Hospital.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash or whether any roadways would be shut down as a result.
