MANHATTAN —A motorcyclist was hit by a taxi at Central Park West and West 96th Street and then careened into a mini-bus that was dropping off kids from a day camp on Monday evening, FDNY officials and witnesses said.

The motorcyclist, who struck the cab just before 5:30 p.m., was bleeding from her face and was taken to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, according to an FDNY spokesman. Her condition was not immediately clear.

A counselor at Deer Kill Day Camp, in Rockland County, said the mini-bus had just made a stop at 360 Central Park West, when he saw the cab, which was trying to move into the left lane, strike the cyclist as she was going north on West 96th Street.

The motorcyclist then skidded across the street and into the back of the camp bus, said the counselor, who declined to give his name. Only a five-year-old girl was on board at that point, and she was not injured, he said.

"There was a little bit of a bump," the counselor said of the motorcycle's collision with his bus.

The cab driver, P. Adrackri, whose slightly dented car was towed from the scene, said he had put his signal light on and was attempting to change lanes when the accident occured.

"Suddenly, within a second, the motorcycle, going very fast, hit me," Adrackri claimed. "She was driving in the middle of two lanes."

The NYPD did not immediately have information on the incident.
