CENTRAL PARK — Summer heat is leaving New Yorkers hot and bothered — but it's life as normal for the animals of Central Park Zoo.

With temperatures well above 90, critters used to colder climes were finding ways to keep cool — including Gus the beloved polar bear who spent Monday lounging out of public view behind a shady rock.

But, though a New York summer is enough to have humans sweating, it would take a lot more heat to make the zoo's residents uncomfortable.

A zoo spokeswoman said 90 degrees is far below temperatures that would bother any of the animals.
