BROOKLYN — A motorcyclist collided with a van on the Williamsburg Bridge Wednesday morning, causing traffic backups during the morning rush, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 8:27 a.m., when the motorcycle struck a van on the Manhattan-bound side of the busy span, fire officials said.
The cyclist was taken to Woodhhull Hospital for treatment, but was conscious and breathing after the crash.
The bridge’s far-right lane on the Manhattan-bound side remained closed shortly before 9 a.m. as emergency crews responded to the incident.
It was not immediately clear what caused the collision.
