MIDTOWN — Scaffolding set up at West 38th Street collapsed Tuesday after a delivery truck accidentally reversed into it, officials said.

No one was injured when the truck backed into the scaffolding at 268 West 38th Street just after 2 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said.

"There were all these people looking, and I saw a delivery truck backing up," said Taffese Richardson, 34, who works nearby.

There was no structural damage to the building, an FDNY chief said.

"This is pretty routine," said Seventh Battalion Chief Anthony Saccavino. "We just didn't want to cause any more damage to the building."

Firefighters removed the scaffolding without incident, Saccavino added.
