Armed Robber in FedEx Jacket Hits Thompson Street Apartment

MANHATTAN — A thief posing as a FedEx worker pistol-whipped and robbed a Greenwich Village man in broad daylight with two accomplices last month, police said Wednesday.

A 34-year-old resident of 171 Thompson St., between Bleecker and West Houston streets, opened his front door around 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5 to a man wearing a black-and-purple FedEx jacket, according to police.

Two partners of the dubious deliveryman then shoved their way inside the victim's apartment, where someone struck him with a gun.

They fled in a black Ford with cash, jewelry and a cell phone, police said.

The victim did not suffer serious injuries.

The first suspect is 26 to 30 years old and roughly 6-foot-3, police said. The second suspect is 25 to 30 years old and stands 5-foot-10. The third suspect is 30 to 35 years old, 5-feet-10 and 200 pounds.
