BUSHWICK — Two young men were shot on a Brooklyn street corner at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, and the only one that survived is in critical condition, police said.
Cops received a call of a man shot at at Aberdeen Street and Bushwick Avenue, but upon responding, they said they found two young men were suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the young men, who cops say was 17, died.
According to neighbors, the shooting occurred around at the edge of Rudd Playground, which had been closed recently for renovations and is now an abandoned space.
One man, 20, had sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder, and was transported to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition, police said. The deceased suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, police said.
Both men were transported to Brookdale Hospital.
The younger victim's family had not been notified, so no identities were released, police said.
Surveillance video from a nearby car dealership shows a group of four men walking from the northwest corner of the intersection, slowly making their way up Aberdeen Street.
Moments later, one man comes running down the street, back in the direction they were moving away from. He's soon after followed by two others, and the camera shows one man in a white T-shirt shooting the first man in the back.
It is unclear what caused the shooting. Police said there were no arrests, but an investigation was ongoing.
