THE BRONX — A photo taken by a straphanger as a pervert allegedly masturbated on board a Bronx subway train is being used by police trying to track him down.

At 2:30 p.m. on May 8, the man allegedly pleasured himself through his clothing while facing a passenger on a northbound 2 train that was approaching the Simpson Street station in Longwood, police said.

Then at 12:45 p.m. on May 16, the suspect repeated the lewd act in front of another subway rider as a southbound 5 train pulled into the 3rd Avenue-149th Street stop in the Hub, according to police.

The photo shows a man the police described as light-skinned, between 60 and 70 years old, about 5-foot-9 and with gray hair and a mustache.

During both incidents he wore an orange hat, an orange button-down shirt, tan slacks, sandals and clear glasses or sunglasses, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
