JFK AIRPORT — This gives new meaning to supporting the troops.
A cargo handler at Kennedy Airport helped himself to jewelry and electronics that were bound for troops overseas, according to a published report.
At the time of his arrest Wednesday Terrance Ralph, 41, of Brooklyn, was allegedly decked out in goodies nicked from packages on their way to the troops, including a $100 watch, a $300 bracelet and a $150 phone, according to the NY Post.
Alarm bells were first raised when postal inspectors began getting reports that packages were already open when they arrived at a sorting facility in Germany, where the troops were stationed, the Post said.
Inspectors then worked their way backwards to the sorting facility at Kennedy Airport, according to the paper.
Ralph was placed under surveillance and was caught subsequently.
The handler has been arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petty larceny, the paper added.
