THE BRONX — A school bus driver has been busted for allegedly watching and sharing kiddie porn from his home computer, authorities said Tuesday.
Jose Peralta, 36, was arrested Monday morning at his University Avenue home on charges of possessing and promoting child pornography, prosecutors said.
He was charged with five counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, and 25 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, according to the criminal complaint filed in Bronx Criminal Court.
He was arraigned Tuesday and his bail was set at $50,000.
Peralta recently started a job as a school bus driver in Queens, but it was not immediately clear for which company, sources said.
Prosecutors accused Peralta of using the desktop computer in his bedroom to watch and share images of children engaged in sexual acts. He is suspected of sharing the videos on a public online forum known to prosecutors as a site for trading child pornography.
His attorney could not be reached for comment.
